Lesson Drabble

TITLE: A Small Lesson
RATING: G (except I have a very dirty mind, so, you be the judge)
WORD COUNT: 100
RUM TO: Horatio

"Now, Mr. Hornblower, put your lips like so, place it in your mouth, moisten the end, and, gently, mind you, inhale," said Captain Pellew. Horatio took the cigar and did as bidden.

"Hold the smoke in your mouth, but do not let it into your lungs or--" Horatio, who had inhaled too deeply, coughed and sputtered, and Pellew grabbed the cigar from him before embers fell and set the ship aflame.

"Mr. Hornblower, this is a gentleman's pleasure, and you will learn to enjoy it. I can't comprehend why you find it so difficult. Mr. Kennedy had no trouble."

Poor Mr. Kennedy! How DOES such a sweet-faced lad get such a reputation?!

ps-- Rache, another caption for that pic would be 'whose hand is that?'

He's just too cute for his own good, and I can't resist putting him in compromising positions =).

Anyway, it's just a cigar.

I love Pellew's imperious, commanding style. It's fun to tell people what to do.

Glad you liked it =)

Hehehehe. Cigars! Oh yes, we all know why Archie picked up the knack so quickly, don't we? ;-)

This made me smile. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you liked it =). Now, you post a drabble!

Who is that in your icon with Horatio? It looks like Archie, but you aren't an A/H 'shipper, are you?

Moi??? =:0
Oh dear, I've never written a drabble in my life. I find it easier to get wordy. LOL
I'll see what I can do. I certainly feel inspired by this "Life Lessons" thingie...

Re: the icon - that's the captain! Nope, not an A/H shipper. Funny, because I'm a Horatio/justaboutanyoneelse shipper. :)

I didn't used to see Horatio/Pellew, but now I do, just a little (Pellew as we know him from the movies, not the books or history).

Perhaps I will write some. Maybe some comfort post-Archie.

*stares unbelievingly* Words fail me here.
How can someone write so innocent a drabble and still make it so ambiguous?! This definitely goes to my memories!

I am chanting "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar" to myself without much conviction here :-) Nice stuff!

And Mr Kennedy definitely seems to possess all the advantages of a public school education, so it's no real surprise he's ahead in this particular field of endeavour, is it?

advantages of a public school education
Hee.

I often make Archie a big slut in my drabbles . . . don't really know why.

Glad you liked it!
